Mississippi Blood Services ensures that blood donation is SAFE, SIMPLE and SAVES LIVES!

Each time you donate blood, a one-time, sterile needle is used. You cannot contract AIDS or HIV by giving blood. Mississippi Blood Services also offers a “mini physical” at each donation. Your temperature, heart rate, blood pressure and hemoglobin will all be checked. There have been occasions when individual’s lives were saved by this screening. We will also ask you a series of questions to ensure your safety as well as the recipient’s.
