Mississippi Blood Services ensures that blood donation is SAFE, SIMPLE and SAVES LIVES!

Each time you donate blood, a one-time, sterile needle is used. You can not contract AIDS or HIV by giving blood. Mississippi Blood Services also offers a "mini physical" at each donation. Your temperature, heart rate, blood pressure and hemoglobin will all be checked. There have been occassions when individual's lives were saved by this screening. We will also ask you a series of questions to ensure your safety as well as the recipient's.

As a way of saying thank you to our donors, Mississippi Blood Services is offering a complimentary lipid profile test to all who donate three times in 2008. Be sure to ask our staff about this during your next donation. Your health and well-being are important to us!
